Liam turned 10 big months on Sunday!

In the last month he has started to crawl and to "cruise", and gets better every day. He is pulling himself up -- famously in his crib to protest the stupidity of naptime. He is an expert water chugger with his sippy cup (with straw). He is eating a variety of veg, fruit, grain (quinoa!) and meat.

Yesterday he stood on his own (twice) without holding on to anything for daddy.

We are so proud of this boy!

* In preparing our house for sale we've managed to pack away the little cord that links our camera to the computer for image download... We've got more 10 month photos. We just can't show them to you!

9 months old and feeling better!!

Liam turned 9 months on Thursday!!! 

It wasn't the most fun-filled day for him, but we're happy (extraordinarily happy!!!) to report that he is smiling again!  We are giving him lots of snuggles and kisses, and playing with his favorite toys (including his new favorite giraffe from Mamó).  We are so impressed and proud of our brave and strong boy.  He is so resilient!!! Thanks to you all for your support, kindness and encouragement.  We are so lucky to have such amazing friends and family.

Merry Christmas!!!

Liam celebrated his FIRST Christmas today in tandem with his six month birthday!!

We started the day at home, enjoying the tree and all the lovely gifts given to us from loved ones near and far.  Then it was off to Grampa and Gramm's house.

5 months! First Flight

We celebrated Liam's 5 month birthday and first flight all on the same day!

4 months already!

Liam celebrated his 4 month birthday with his Tampa grandparents, Abba and the great Dado (aka Da).  

We were having so much fun we almost forgot what day it was! 

"Hey," said Abba, "Liam is 4 months old today." 

"We should have cake!" we thought.

But we had no cake in the house, until .... knock knock knock! Our superfun neighbor, Kelly, appeared on our doorstep with a giant plate of cake!  (It was her son's 1st birthday).

Liam continues to amaze and enthrall us.  He loves to look at the baby in the mirror, is laughing to beat the band, and is days away from getting his foot in his mouth (he's so close!). 

 

 

Three months!

Liam is three months old today! And what a stone cold honor it is to be his parents. We are grateful every day for our beautiful boy. Here are a few words (and photos! of course) on his development this month.

Our boy is getting strong! Liam excels at tummy time, raising his chest and his head and looking all around.

He'll stay in a sitting position if leaned up against a cushion or something. Though, occasionally he'll take a sideways nose dive. He loves to stand, when held, and march in place - this is particularly fun on mom's soft tummy.

He continues to be a happy, happy baby. He's given us a few hearty chuckles (actual ha-ha's!) recently that would make you feel like Christmas has come early this year. Ah, it's just really adorable. Of course he is smiling a lot and blowing spit bubbles and raspberries at us. He recognizes mom and dad, to their delight. And, loves to hear them sing. In addition to myriad homemade songs, with lyrics like "we saw a squirrel today! we love to spit-up on mom. hurray! hurray!", Liam loves his folks to sing songs off of the Elizabeth Mitchell CD, "You are my little bird", a fabulous gift from his friend Anne.

Sleep is a really big deal in the Donovan household now. Liam is now napping regularly during the day, not always for very long periods of time, but we appreciate the effort nonetheless. Bedtime is also getting easier, especially these past few days. And, fingers crossed, four and five hour spells are not unheard of anymore.


Well that's the news for this month!

2 Months Old!

Liam is two months old today!

We visited the pediatrician's office in celebration of the big day, where a fun time was had by all until it was time for shots. Then Liam cried. So Sarah cried. Kevin didn't cry, but we're all pretty sure he wanted to.

We are delighted to report that, not only is Liam a happy baby, but he's a healthy one as well. He's 14lbs and 24.5 inches long, and doing all the things a baby should at two months.
